V&T EcoDriveCN® medium voltage motor soft starters in thermal power plant

V&T EcoDriveCN® medium voltage motor soft starters enable soft-starting and soft-stopping of AC motors with high power demands, help to reduce energy and maintenance costs, component count and motor wear.

V&T EcoDriveCN® medium voltage motor soft starters are applied in thermal power plant in Shandong Province, China.

The on-site V&T EcoDriveCN® MV motor soft start control cabinets are strictly tested for EMC standards. All PCB boards are with eco-friendly conformal coating, located in one thermal power plant in binzhou, Shandong, China.


The motor parameters on site:
1. Power: 1000KW; current: 57.4A; Voltage: 10KVAC; Power factor: 0.9.
2. Power: 1600KW; current: 110.2A; Voltage: 10KVAC;
Power factor: 0.877.

Technical parameters of pumps:
Flow: 3100 cbm/h;
Head pressure: 96m;
Requirements for load start & stop: Operate according to the level of the water level on site.

Technical requirements on site: when water level of boiler dropped to a certain value, start the medium voltage pump to supply water to the boiler. When water level of boiler reachs a certain value, stop the pumps, wait for the next start.



The parameters on site: Starting current: 30%; Current limiting factor: 350%; Switching time: 10s; The actual starting current: 240A.
