V&T EcoDriveCN® medium voltage motor soft starters on flameproof pump in mining industry

V&T EcoDriveCN® medium voltage motor soft starters include numerous user-friendly features to ensure safe and easy operation, and have the flexibility to meet the demands of all medium voltage situations.

V&T EcoDriveCN® medium voltage motor soft starters are used on explosion proof pumps in coal industry.

The load type: explosion proof pump.


Before this retrofitting, there are 3 pumps on site. But due to the capacity of transformer is not enough, only 2 pumps can be used. Meantime, these 2 pumps can't be started at the same time.


But after adding 2 medium voltage motor soft starters, #1 pump is started directly, #2 and #3 pumps are started through V&T EcoDriveCN® medium voltage motor soft starters. And all 3 pumps can be started at the same time. This increased the mine drainage, avoid to increase capacity of transformer.


The parameters on site:
Starting voltage: 40%;
Current limiting factor: 360% Ie;
Starting time: 10s.
